Wrapping up my photos from the Wales Meet- Links to streetview of some of the locations are in the captions. Just about recovered now!
This was the view from the cottage. Nice lake behind (Just ignore the disused nuclear power plant that’s been using it for cooling...)

The iPhone Panorama mode is surprisingly good.

Our small group was well matched speedwise. I was always in front, mostly to meet oncoming traffic. When I dissapeared that meant a big drop was coming up, so be prepared.

Just after being surprised by a low flying Hercules.

Some good roads around here- fast single track around the lake, then about 15 miles across the open ground. Just got to dodge the logging trucks...

There were some questionable mods made:
Navigation was sometimes a problem.

I think two tyre changes were required over the whole week. One valve problem, and one driver problem.
Awards were given
And displayed proudly
Except by someone who claimed it would cause problems with the Tinder Dates BRZ owners club.
Various issues made it hard to get a group shot of everyone, we were rarely in the same place at the same time. On the last day we did manage to get most people together in the same place at the same time, with a couple of people missing- Marc joined us for the first couple of days in his Elise, as had Paul in his Cappucino. The Explorer was a random guy (Think he lived over the other side of the Dam) who stopped to chat. We do tend to draw attention when 15+ cars show up.
Thanks everyone!

Join the next EurOppo meet. I regret not going to Wales.

I’m not very good around new people. I get anxious and wouldn’t be driving out of nerves being in a group.
Also I’d have to bring a large daysack of car products. Lol.

I still feel terribly for the little FIAT! Any word on how it’s doing?

None of us bites or harvests organs afaik. Jokes aside, that’s totally fine. I’m shy around new people.
I guess nobody would mind a good svending;)

You can always join in as a ‘navigator’, no worries there...

A massive thanks to you as well, Wales is a stunning (part of a) country and the routes you prepared did it justice!

Nobody would want my organs anyway.
Lol.

Oh you don’t want me to navigate. I get very anal about it.
If I’m planning to go with a couple of colleagues to a restaurant we’ve not gone to before. I check through their menus and wine lists, check reviews, plan routes and two secondary routes in case of traffic issues, check weather reports, etc... I plan it like a military operation.
The pre-reading of the menu is so I know in advance so if I get into conversation while trying to read the menu I can be attentive while not missing anything.

Best job ever. “Follow ze Ignis!”

You did perfect as a navigator/co-driver!!

Made it home fine. It’s mostly cosmetic.

Couldn’t make it to Wales but at least I found out Real sells Störtebeker this week.

Glad it’s cosmetic! Expensive to fix? Looks like the hood wasn’t damaged!

BiTurbo will do the work himself anyways so it’s mostly a matter of finding a few parts and fixing a few dents here and there, but it won’t be an easy fix.

We could have done with those skills. A party of 15 or so turning up at a small pub can cause havoc even with booking before...
I will say we’re not the most on time bunch, though mostly better this time around!

It’s my thing.
Usually two or three days on the internet on Google maps and tracking everywhere along StreetView.

You’re always welcome to join nonetheless;)

It’s very much a no strings attached kind of group, a group with very diverse people with very diverse vehicles who share a love for cars. Do what you want, skip what you don’t want. Have a beer or other kind of drink with the group, or don’t. Drive along quickly or slowly or not at all. You’d be very welcome regardless.

Whens the next Euro-meet?

There will be two smaller events this year, Le Mans Classic in July (?) and a 2nd Nürburgring meet in September. The next big meet will happen around this time next year.

Holy camoly! It’s been months and now I realize that we both have coffee tables filled with Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars. Brother from a different mother?

I got to give you credit because I stole the idea from you;) I wish my coffee table was large enough to display some more of my collection.
